Let's do lunch has taken on a new and important meaning! Lunch Buddies is a school based mentoring program. Community Volunteers are matched with area school youth who have been identified as being considered "at-risk". Lunch Buddies youth are in need of caring mentoring/friendship relationships. Volunteers meet with their friend once a week during the regular school and work lunch hour. The focus is on increasing self-confidence, improving school behavior and performance, and creating trusting friendships. All this with the power of a trusting Friendship! During the visit Buddies eat lunch, play games, do crafts, read, talk, whatever both friends want to do. The possibilities are endless.
